Privacy Policy
- This policy explains what information Naija Play collects when you use the service, what it is used for, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Naija Play website and game on all supported networks. The service is operated by ETSU Digital Limited, the data controller.
1. What we collect
- Your phone number. When you visit over your mobile network, your network passes your number to us to identify your account. It is also included in subscription messages between us and your network's billing systems.
- Subscription and billing records. Your subscription plan, its status, and the record of subscription charges made through your network. Naija Play does not collect or store card details or bank details.
- Play records. The games you play, your answers, response times, scores and prizes.
- Device and connection information. Information about the device and connection used to access the service, recorded alongside your play, as described in clause 1.18 of the Terms.
- Cookies. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, service identifiers, and analytics cookies described in section 5.
2. What we use it for
- Running the game: identifying your account, serving questions, scoring, and showing your results.
- Billing: starting, renewing and stopping your subscription through your mobile network.
- Prizes: deciding eligibility, paying instant prizes and draw prizes, and keeping a record of what was paid.
- Fairness and fraud prevention: detecting and preventing fraudulent play and enforcing the fair play rules in clauses 1.15 to 1.17 of the Terms. Prizes may be withheld on the basis of this information as the Terms describe.
- Meeting legal obligations and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
3. Who we share it with
- Your mobile network operator, to manage your subscription and billing.
- Billing partners that process subscriptions on behalf of the networks.
- Service providers that help us run the service, such as hosting and analytics providers, who may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities and regulators, where the law requires it.
- We do not sell your information.
4. How long we keep it
- We keep your account, play and prize records while you use the service and after your subscription ends. We keep them because prize decisions, disputes and fairness checks can depend on older records, and because some records must be kept by law. You can ask us to delete information as described in section 6.
5. Cookies and analytics
- We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, service identifiers used only to run and protect the service, and analytics cookies that help us understand how the service is used.
6. Your rights
- You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct information that is wrong, or ask us to delete information we no longer need. Some records must be kept even after a deletion request, such as records the law requires us to keep and records we need to resolve disputes or prevent fraud, and we will tell you when that applies. To make a request, contact us at enquiries@naijaplayapp.ng. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
7. Security
- We limit who can access your information, protect it in transit, and log administrative actions that affect your account and prizes.
8. The service is for adults
- The service is intended for people aged 18 and over, in line with the Terms.
9. Changes to this policy
- If we change this policy, we will update this page. Meaningful changes will be highlighted on the site.
